On Day 2, we left the tribal village of Zadoli at about 8. Reached the base, where a boat was waiting for us at about 9. The 3.5 hour boat journey to the base of Vasota peak started at about 9.30. The lake, the mountains and forests stretched endlessly around us. We reached Vasota around 1 pm. The camp was a short walk from the place we alighted the boat. After setting-up the camp, rest of the day was spent in water and strolling around.

Early morning. A view from the village. Wind farms can be seen at the distant crest of the mountain. Asia's largest wind farms in Satara district

Washing vessels as well as collecting drinking water from a nearby stream. A few of us kept a vigil with torchlights, looking around for any wild animals.

Day 2 ended with a lavish dinner - result of a collective effort, followed by a cautious walk to the stream in pitch darkness.
